Problem Note 34460: Incorrect results might be returned when the COUNT(DISTINCT) function is used in the SQL procedure
In SAS® 9.2, you might receive incorrect results if you use the COUNT(DISTINCT variable-name) function in an SQL procedure similar to the following:
proc sql;
select count(distinct variable-name) as cnt
from ds1;
quit;
This error normally occurs when the data set contains more than five million rows. In addition, the results that are generated might differ each time the code is run.
