An error occurs when you use the DB2 WITH statement in an SQL procedure that uses the REMOTE engine. Support for the WITH statement was added in SAS^® 6 to the PROC SQL Pass-Through Facility in SAS/ACCESS^® Interface to DB2. However, when you use the REMOTE engine in PROC SQL along with a DB2 WITH statement, the following error is generated:

ERROR: The SQL used in a CONNECTION TO <dbms> phrase is not a SELECT expression.
