Problem Note 34234: Incorrect results might occur if you use the LIBNAME statement option IP=YES with an SQL procedure that contains data calculations in a WHERE clause
In SAS® Scalable Performance Data Server®, incorrect results might be generated when you use the LIBNAME statement option IP=YES and an SQL procedure
that contains date calculations in a WHERE clause. The problem occurs because of incorrect implicit pass-through processing, the results of which are passed to SAS Scalable Performance Data Server.
Note: This problem occurs in SAS 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 if Hot Fix E9BC46 has been applied.
Suppose, for example, that you have the following calculation in a WHERE clause:
claims.dateofservice ge (today()-35)
The calcualation is transformed into the following during the implicit pass-through processing:
claims.dateofservice >= ('15DEC2008'd - '15DEC2008'd)
This condition is passed by PROC SQL to SAS Scalable Performance Data Server, which then evaluates the condition to the following:
claims.dateofservice >= 0
Because the software incorrectly evaluates the clause to 0, it interprets the value to be '01jan1960'd, as shown here:
claims.dateofservice >= '01jan1960'd
To avoid incorrect results, either omit the IP= option in the LIBNAME statement or use IP=NO.
