Problem Note 33896: Performance degradation occurs when you run programs in SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Sybase after you have migrated from SAS® 8.2 to SAS® 9.1.3

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you migrate from SAS 8.2 to SAS 9.1.3 SAS in the UNIX environment, significant performance degradation occurs when you run programs in SAS/ACCESS Interface to Sybase.

In SAS® 9, SHARED is the default value for the CONNECTION= option. Changing that value to UNIQUE fixes the performance degradation for queries that use the LIBNAME statement. However, queries made with the ACCESS procedure are not affected by CONNECTION=UNIQUE. As a result, you will still experience performance degradation for those queries.
