Depending on the release of SAS IT Resource Management, you can use MXGSRC and MXGLIB as either parameters or environment variables to locate the MXG source and format libraries. The examples included in this SAS note refer to three libraries:
- custom-source-library specifies the path to your MXG custom source library (MXGUSER.SRCLIB).
- source-library specifies the path to your MXG source library (MXG.SRCLIB).
- format-library specifies the path to your MXG format library (MXG.FMTLIB).
Even though MXGSRC and MXGLIB are used in releases 2.7 and later of SAS IT Resource Management, the process for passing assigned values is different between releases.
For SAS IT Resource Management 3.21 (and later), MXGSRC and MXGFMT are used instead and configured as environment variables, as follows:
SET='MXGSRC (custom-source-library source-library)'
SET='MXGFMT format-library'
In the z/OS operating environment, you set these environment variables in a partitioned data set member called COMMON that resides in high-level-qualifier.CONFIG. For more information, see "Working with MXG Code to Stage Data" in the SAS® IT Resource Management 3.3: Administrator's Guide.
For SAS IT Resource Management 3.1.1, you also set MXGSRC and MXGLIB as environment variables in a SAS configuration file. For more information, refer to the "Appendix R - Configuring SAS IT Resource Management" in the Configuration Guide for SAS® 9.1.3 Foundation for z/OS.
In SAS IT Resource Management 2.7, the %CPSTART macro invokes SAS IT Resource Management software. This macro uses MXGSRC and MXGLIB as parameters that point to the locations of the MXG libraries, as shown in the following syntax:
%CPSTART (MODE=BATCH,
ROOT='your.itrm.',
ROOTSERV=,
PDB='your.itrm..pdb.',
DISP=OLD,
SHARE=N/A,
SITELIB='your.itrm.SITELIB',
SITEACC=OLD,
SITESHR=,
MXGSRC=('custom-source-library' 'source-library'),
MXGFMT=format-library,
_RC=cpstrc
);
For additional information about configuration files or the SET SAS system option, see the SAS Companion documentation for your SAS installation's operating environment. The documentation is available from the Base SAS product documentation web page.
