Problem Note 33988: An error occurs when you exit SAS® Enterprise Guide®
If you install SAS 9.2 software on a machine that already has SAS Enterprise Guide 4.1 installed, you might encounter an error similar to the following:
The instruction at "0x4d65c59b" referenced memory at "0x09eb0004". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
To correct the problem:
- Navigate to C:\Program Files\SAS\Shared Files\Secure on the client machine.
- Rename the files tcpdeam.dll and tcpdencr.dll to tcpdeam.dll.old and tcpdencr.dll.old.
- Copy the files from !sasroot\core\sasexe to C:\Program Files\SAS\Shared Files\Secure.
After you replace those files, the error should no longer occur.

fixed.
If you install SAS® 9.2 software after installing SAS Enterprise Guide, an error can occur when you exit SAS Enterprise Guide.
