Problem Note 33555: A SAS® 9.2 installation reports inadequate system requirements although the System Requirements Wizard runs successfully

Microsoft Runtime Components might not get updated when installing SAS 9.2.
When you run the System Requirements Wizard (SRW) for SAS 9.2, the Microsoft Runtime Components might not get updated if the existing runtime DLL file attributes are set to read-only. Unfortunately, this failure does not get flagged during the SRW and it completes without error. Subsequently, the SAS System installation might "loop", reporting that it cannot proceed due to a "failure to meet minimum requirements."
The files most likely to be affected are as follows:
- atl80.dll
- mfc80.dll
- mfc80u.dll
- msvcp80.dll
- msvcr80.dll
Each one is checked to make sure its version 8.0.50727.762 or higher.
The workaround is to remove the read-only attribute from these files and run the System Requirements Wizard again. These files are located in C:\Windows or C:\WinNT. You can use Windows Explorer to search for each file and change the attribute.
