Usage Note 33495: Enabling the ARM log in a SAS® 9.1 OLAP Server

The following steps can be used to enable ARM logging for the SAS OLAP Server. "SASMain" refers to the default name for the SAS application servers. Your environment might use a different name.

  1. Open SAS Management Console.
  2. Expand Server Manager ► SASMain ► SASMain - Logical OLAP Server.
  3. Right-click on SASMain - OLAP Server and select Properties.
  4. On the Options tab, click Advanced Options.
  5. On the Performance Logging tab, complete these steps:
    1. Enter a name and a path for the ARM log file. This location should be accessible by your OLAP server process.
    2. Select these options: OLAP Session, MDX Query, and Data Query
  6. Click OK twice to close the open windows.
  7. Restart your SAS OLAP Server.
  8. Run the query or queries that demonstrate the problem.
  9. Stop your SAS OLAP Server.
  10. Return to the Performance Logging tab for the SAS OLAP Server (step 5), remove the ARM log file name (step 5a), and disable the options (step 5b).
  11. Restart your SAS OLAP Server.
