Problem Note 33314: Data alignment problems with SASĀ® 9.2 CONCUR LIBNAME engine on VMS Itanium
Data alignment problems with the CONCUR LIBNAME engine in SAS 9.2 for VMS on Itanium will result in substantially longer processing times when compared with using the BASE engine.
A hot fix has been provided for SAS 9.2 TS1M0 for VMS Itanium. This is not a complete fix, and requires that any data set created with the CONCUR engine in SAS 9.2 TS1M0 must first be converted to the BASE engine format before the hot fix is applied. Once the fix is applied, the data set can then be recreated with the updated CONCUR engine.
Data sets created with the updated CONCUR engine cannot be read by any other release of SAS, nor can they be read by the fully updated CONCUR engine in SAS 9.2 TS2M0 (called Phase 2).
If you apply this hot fix and you plan to upgrade to SAS 9.2 TS2M0 on VMS Itanium, you must convert any data sets created with the CONCUR engine provided by the hot fix back to the BASE engine format using SAS 9.2 TS1M0, then recreate the data set with the 9.2 TS2M0 CONCUR engine.
