Usage Note 33234: An error occurs when you use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC with a DataDirect ODBC client setup in the UNIX environment
When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC with a DataDirect client setup under UNIX, an error message might occur when you use a data source name (DSN) for Oracle:
ERROR: CLI describe error: [DataDirect][ODBC Oracle Wire
Protocol driver]Optional feature not implemented.
The error is caused by certain data types (NCHAR, NVARCHAR2, and NCLOB) that are present in the Oracle table that is being referenced.
To solve this problem, add the EnableNcharSupport=1 option in the section in the odbc.ini file for the DSN that you reference in your LIBNAME statement.
