Problem Note 33218: SAS® 9.2 Enhanced Editor issues are corrected with latest Base SAS® hot fix
The following Enhanced Editor issues are corrected in SAS 9.2 by applying the latest SAS 9.2 hot fix.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note for information on how to obtain the hot fix for these issues:
- When using the Autosave feature in the SAS 9.2 Enhanced Editor, no untitled Enhanced Editor content is saved. If you are working on a named program, it is saved.
The issue occurs only with untitled Enhanced Editor contents.
- When placing the cursor at the end of the first line in the Enhanced Editor, the cursor is placed one column to the right of where it should be. For example, if the last column should be 31, then the cursor is placed in column 32.
- When you place the cursor at the beginning of line 2, hold the SHIFT key and press BACK,
the blank spaces at the end of line 1 are incorrectly selected.
Instead, the test in line 1 should be selected.
- When using the Find function in the Enhanced Editor to search for an end-of-line character, $, SAS might not catch the end-of-file characters using the same character, $. SAS 9.1.3 and SAS® Enterprise Guide® 4.1 would,
but SAS 9.2 and SAS Enterprise Guide 4.2 will not unless you apply the latest hot fix.
- If you are trying to use the Replace or Undo/Redo functions, the full text is not replaced as in SAS 9.1.3. For example, if you type "p", "r", "o", "c" in the Editor, then CTRL+z to undo the action, then you are left with "pro" when you should be left with " ".
- When using the Find function with the following options (Clear match whole word, set regular
expression search and then search the direction to up), you will not get all of the entries you
are looking for. For example if you type d<cr>d, then the find will not find the first d, only the second d:
d
