If you configure the SAS Information Delivery Portal to use SSL, you might not be able to invoke the portal.

In this situation the following errors might appear in these logs:

• In the portal log:

This problem occurs if the certificate that is installed for the themes is not trusted. If the certificate is not trusted, then the system should prompt you to decide whether you trust the certificate. However, this prompting by the system is not allowed when you invoke the SAS Information Delivery Portal.

You should use either of the two following methods to correct this problem (However, method 1 is preferred):

1. Change the theme connection so that it uses HTTP instead of HTTPS. Themes are static content and do not require SSL.
   
   To configure the theme connection to use HTTP instead of HTTPS, perform the following steps:
   
   
   1. Navigate to the updatethemeconnection.sas file. This file is located in the following directory:
      
      C:\Program Files\SAS\Web\Portal2.0.1\OMR
      
      
   2. Open the file and locate the %let protocol=protocol; statement.
   3. Change the PROTOCOL= value to http according to the following example:
      %let protocol=http;
   4. Verify that all site-specific values in the UpdateThemeConnection.sas file are correct.
   5. Save the file.
   6. Submit the file in SAS to update the metadata.
   7. Restart the application server and invoke the SAS Information Delivery Portal.
      
      
2. Set up the certificate to be trusted. For instructions regarding how to perform this step, you should refer to the instructions in your SSL software vendor documentation.
