Problem Note 33007: Code that generates a lot of output might cause SAS® Enterprise Guide® to stop responding
Running code in SAS Enterprise Guide might cause an Application Error and a status of Collecting in the Task Status window. In most cases, the code has finished processing even though SAS Enterprise Guide appears to be unresponsive. This problem is most likely to occur when the code and the data generate a lot of HTML (or other result format), and the option Link handcoded ODS results is not selected.
In most cases, to circumvent the problem, select Tools ► Options ► Results ► Results General. Select the Link handcoded ODS results option, and then rerun the code.
However, if your ODS code uses ExcelXP as the destination, SAS Enterprise Guide still attempts to download the results. For this case, instead of selecting the Link handcoded ODS results option, add this line of code before your ods tagsets.excelxp
