The following error occurs when you run a PROC SQL query that uses the IDXNAME= data set option to specify the index name along with the WHERE= data set option to subset the table:

However, the process works correctly if you use these options in a DATA step.

To work around this problem, keep the IDXNAME= option in the query, as before, but use a WHERE clause instead of the WHERE= data set option.
