Usage Note 32589: "Configuration Error: Profile (SAS) must be defined in metadata" in SAS® Web Report Studio log
The SAS Web Report Studio log might contain the following error message:
WRS 15:30:46,394 ERROR [0353e42d0f4978ba:c84361:1063c5d31b1:-7ff0 sasdemo]
citation.model.pfs.WRSProfileMgr - Configuration Error: Profile (SAS) must be
defined in metadata.
The SAS profile centrally stores information that all of your SAS® Enterprise Guide installations need in order to interact with your SAS Web Report Studio installation. For example, you need this profile in order to publish reports from SAS Enteprise Guide to SAS Web Report Studio (see SAS Sample 31396). This configuration message will appear in the log until you add the profile as explained next:
- In SAS Management Console, expand Foundation Services Manager and navigate down to Platform User Service.
- Right-click on Platform User Service and select Properties.
- Click the Service Configuration tab.
- Click Edit Configuration to open the User Service Configuration dialog box.
- Click the Profiles tab.
- A profile named global that points to your metadata server should already exist. Select it and click Edit.
- Copy the information in the Domain URL field and then click OK. (You will paste the copied URL in step 8b.)
- Back in the User Service Configuration dialog box, click Add to open the New Profile dialog box, and complete the following fields:
- In the Application field, type SAS.
SAS must be all uppercase.
- In the Domain URL field, paste the URL that you copied from the global profile.
- In the Class field, type com.sas.preferences.SASProfile.
- Click OK to return to the User Service Configuration dialog box, which should now look like this:
- Click OK until you have exited the rest of the dialog boxes.
- Right-click on Platform User Service, and select Refresh.
- Restart your servlet container (i.e., Tomcat, WebLogic, or Websphere).
