Installation Note 32945: On HP Integrity systems, SASĀ® 9.1.3 SP4 installation process hangs if memory page size has been set higher than 8Kb
On HP-UX systems, SAS 9.1.3 SP4 does not recognize a page size greater than 8Kb.
This causes threaded kernel page allocations to fail, and
the SAS installation process will hang.
If a large page size has been set, you must reset it to the default value before
you install SAS 9.1.3 SP4.
After you reset the kernel parameter to a lower value (8Kb or lower),
you must reboot your server in order for the change to take
effect.
In releases prior to HP 11iv3 (11.31) on Integrity systems,
all releases of HP-UX (both PA-RISC and Integrity systems)
had a memory page size limit of 4Kb.
Beginning with HP 11iv3 (11.31) on Integrity systems, however,
a new kernel parameter allows system administrators to set
the minimum addressable memory page size to the values 4Kb, 8Kb, 16Kb, or 64Kb.
Note that this new kernel parameter is available only on HP Integrity
systems, not on PA-RISC.
