Problem Note 32941: When you open SAS® Universal Viewer, the application closes and an error message appears
When you open SAS Universal Viewer, a dialog box appears with the following message:
Sas.univiewer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
To Fix This Issue
- Navigate to C:\Users\User-ID\AppData\Roaming\SAS Institute Inc\SAS Universal Viewer.
- Rename the SASViewer.sasuvw file to SASViewer.old.
- Start SAS Universal Viewer.
- Select Tools ► Options. Clear the Save workspace on shutdown check box on the General tab.
Note: In SAS Universal Viewer 1.4, the Save workspace on shutdown check box is on the Global tab.
