Problem Note 32893: The Adapter Setup Wizard from SAS® IT Resource Management does not honor overrides for the staged and aggregation libraries
When you use the Adapter Setup Wizard from SAS IT Resource Management in SAS® Data Integration Studio, a screen is displayed that appears to allow you to override the unit type and space allocations for the staged, simple and summarized aggregation libraries. However, overriding these space allocations does not cause the default allocation to change.
In such a situation, although the Adapter Setup Wizard confirmation screen specifies non-default unit type and disk space allocations that the wizard accepts, the physical file allocations are allocated using the default allocations that the Adapter Setup Wizard provides. The wizard does not honor overrides of these default values.
However, if you need to override the unit type and disk allocation for the staged, simple and summarized aggregation SAS libraries in the Adapter Setup Wizard, then modify the default file allocation options that are found in the SAS configuration file for the following:
- primary space
- secondary space
- device
- allocation units
- blocksize
These file allocation options are as follows:
FILESPPRI=20
FILESPSEC=50
FILEDEV=DISK
FILEUNIT=CYLS
BLKSIZE(DASD)=HALF
Review these settings to ensure that they meet your operating system’s requirements.
Another option is to allocate the staged, simple and summarized aggregation SAS libraries manually by performing the following steps:
- Create the libraries through the Adapter Setup Wizard.
- Replacing the SAS libraries individually with a larger space allocation SAS dataset.
For more information on how to allocate SAS data libraries, refer to the Assigning SAS Libraries section of SAS® 9.2 Companion for z/OS
