Problem Note 32841: Microsoft Vista security issues can prevent the /REGSERVER command from updating the Vista registry
When you create a batch file with the /REGSERVER command-line parameter, Vista security issues can prevent the command from updating the Vista registry.
For example, suppose you want to update the registry with the default SAS 9.2 installation location. You submit the following command:
command-prompt> “c:\program files\sas\sasfoundation\9.2\sas.exe” /regserver
To verify that the Vista registry is updated, do the following:
- In the Windows Explorer, right-click your file and select Run as administrator from the menu that appears:
- Verify that the registry has been changed:
- Open the registry by selecting Start ►
Run.
- Enter the command REGEDIT in the Run dialog box’s Open field. This opens the Registry Editor window.
- Find the following registry key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{440196D4-90F0-11D0-9F41-00A024BB830C}\LocalServer32
- In the right pane of the Registry Editor, check the Data column to verify that the key now contains the SAS 9.2 installation path.
Currently, there is no solution if the registry does not update.
