Problem Note 32679: Parent terms in synonym list are limited to 25 characters
If you do not specify a synonym data set in the Text Miner node of SAS® Text Miner™, the maximum term length is used to determine the lengths of the term and parent variables in the generated synonym data set.
The lengths of the term and parent variables in the default synonym list (sashelp.engsynms) is 25, so a new synonym data set generated when sashelp.engsynms is used will also have variable lengths limited to 25.
However, if you specify a data set in the Synonym data set property, the lengths of the
parent terms are truncated to 25 characters.
There are no errors or warnings to indicate that the variable lengths were truncated.
The problem affects the appearance in the graphical user interface only - the underlying data is not truncated.
