Usage Note 32474: Recommended graphics options when creating RTF output using SAS/GRAPH® and ODS on the Windows operating system
Beginning with SAS® 9.2, when you write graphics output to an RTF file, the recommended device driver to use is the PNG300 driver. This device driver creates 300 dots per inch (DPI) graphics output. Here is sample code that demonstrates how to use the PNG300 device driver when writing graphics output to an RTF file:
goptions reset=goptions device=png300;
ods _all_ close;
ods rtf file='sastest.rtf';
/* Your SAS/GRAPH procedure code goes here */
ods rtf close;
ods listing;
If you need to adjust the size of the graph output written to RTF, add the XMAX and YMAX options to the GOPTIONS statement. The value for XMAX specifies the width of the graph while the value for YMAX specifies the height of the graph. These values must be adjusted accordingly depending on whether the RTF output is being created in portrait or landscape mode.
For example, the following code writes a graph that is 7 inches wide and 9 inches tall when creating RTF output in portrait mode:
options orientation=portrait;
goptions reset=goptions device=png300 xmax=7in ymax=9in;
ods _all_ close;
ods rtf file='sastest.rtf';
/* Your SAS/GRAPH procedure code goes here */
ods rtf close;
ods listing;
The following code demonstrates how to write a graph that is 7 inches high and 9 inches wide to a landscape mode RTF file using the PNG300 device driver:
options orientation=landscape;
goptions reset=goptions device=png300 xmax=9in ymax=7in;
ods _all_ close;
ods rtf file='sastest.rtf';
/* Your SAS/GRAPH procedure code goes here */
ods rtf close;
ods listing;
