Usage Note 32452: The SAS/GRAPH® NV (Network Visualization) Workshop product might not open successfully when it is invoked for the very first time
The SAS/GRAPH® NV (Network Visualization) Workshop product might not open successfully when it is invoked for the very first time. In certain situations, errors similar to the following occur:
ERROR: Invalid file, C:\Program Files\SAS\NVWorkshop\2.1\licchk.sas
Cannot locate SAS/GRAPH software on this machine.
When invoking the SAS/GRAPH NV Workshop product for the very first time, you must invoke the NV Workshop product in administrator mode. This is a requirement with all versions of the NV Workshop product, including newer versions that are shipped with SAS® 9.3 and SAS® 9.4.
To correct this problem with Windows XP, right-click the desktop shortcut for NV Workshop. Then select Run as.... Next, select the option entitled The following user:. Enter the user ID and password for the administrator for the current machine. Note that you only have to run as administrator the very first time that you invoke NV Workshop.
To correct this problem with Windows 7, make sure that you are in administrator mode when invoking NV Workshop for the very first time. The NV Workshop product requires that you open the program as administrator the first time it is invoked to allow access to the system for the license check. For example, to invoke NV Workshop as administrator on Windows 7, select Start ► All Programs ► SAS. From here, right-click SAS GRAPH NV Workshop and select Run as administrator.
After NV Workshop is invoked in administrator mode the very first time, subsequent invocations of NV Workshop should work fine, even when running as a regular user.
