Usage Note 32282: Microsoft SQL Server tables do not show up in the SAS® Explorer window after you use a DBMS engine to assign a libref
Microsoft SQL Server tables do not show up in the SAS Explorer Window for a new library after you use a database management system (DBMS) engine to assign a libref, as shown in the following LIBNAME statements:
libname mylib odbc dsn=sqldb;
libname mylib oledb provider=sqloledb.1
properties=('Data Source'=tuna
'Integrated Security'=sspi);
libname mydblib sqlsvr user=testuser password=testpass;
To resolve this problem, add the option SCHEMA=DBO to the LIBNAME statement, as shown in the following example:
libname mylib odbc dsn=sqldb schema=dbo;
libname mylib oledb provider=sqloledb.1
properties=('Data Source'=tuna
'Integrated Security'=SSPI) schema=dbo;
libname mydblib sqlsvr user=testuser password=testpass schema=dbo;
When you submit the LIBNAME statements with SCHEMA=DBO, the SQL Server tables will then be visible in the SAS Explorer window.
