Problem Note 31999: SAS® Enterprise Miner(TM) Java client hangs at the SAS Enterprise Miner splash screen after submitting log on to SAS Analytics Platform
Logging on to the SAS Enterprise Miner Java client might hang at the SAS Enterprise Miner client splash screen. The "Welcome to Enterprise Miner" window never displays.
The problem occurs when an active SAS Enterprise Miner session has a failure on the Workspace Server. This can cause the SAS® Analytics Platform to stop responding. While it is not readily obvious the SAS Analytics Platform is at fault, subsequent attempts to log on using the SAS Enterprise Miner Java client result in the client session hanging at the splash screen.
To work around the problem, restart the SAS Analytics Platform service, thus allowing new client connections.
