Problem Note 31941: A metadata write error prevents you from saving a SAS® Data Integration Studio job after you delete a SAS Splitter transformation

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

You might receive the following error message in a pop-up dialog box when you attempt to save a job after you delete a SAS Splitter transformation:

Error writing metadata: The required association OwningTransformation of Variable contains no objects.

The problem appears to be the incomplete deletion of metadata content associated with the output work tables connected with the SAS Splitter. One possible circumvention is as follows:

  1. Cancel out of the job, because saving is not possible when this error occurs.
  2. Open the job again, then open properties on the output work tables that follow the SAS Splitter, go to the Column tab, select and delete all of the columns, then save the changes.
  3. Now delete the SAS Splitter transformation, complete your job modifications, and save the job.
