Usage Note 31911: How to specify Java Virtual Machine (JVM) arguments in WebSphere Application Server
To specify JVM arguments in the Websphere Application Server, perform the following steps:
- Log on to the WebSphere Administrative Console. By default, you do not need to enter an account and password.
- Use the hierarchy tree on the left side of the console to navigate to the Application Servers wizard
- Select Servers ► Application Servers.
- On the next window, select the link for your server (for example, server1).
- On the next window, select the Process Definition link.
- On the next window, select the Java Virtual Machine link.
- Update the Java Virtual Machine configuration as follows:
- In the Generic JVM arguments field, specify additional JVM parameters that are used for tuning WebSphere. Details on tuning the JVM can be found in Chapter 19 "Best Practices for Configuring Your Middle Tier" in the SAS® 9.1.3 Intelligence Platform: Administration Guide.
- Select OK.
- On the Process Definition window, select the Save link in the Message(s) area.
- On the Save window, select Save to save the changes to the master configuration.
