Problem Note 31439: The Data Source Wizard fails to respond when you select a data set
If select a data set using the Data Source Wizard to create a Data Source in SAS® Enterprise Miner™, the Data Source Wizard might fail to respond. You need to use Windows Task Manager to stop SAS Enterprise Miner.
The problem occurs if you have a syntax error in the project Start-Up Code. The only way to tell whether you have a syntax error is to view the log.
To work around the problem, correct the syntax error before using the Data Source Wizard. You can look for syntax errors after you re-start SAS Enterprise Miner: select View ► Log. After you correct the errors, re-start SAS Enterprise Miner, and you can use the Data Source Wizard.
EXAMPLE: Suppose that your Start-Up Code contains the following incorrect syntax (the LIBNAME statement contains an extra double-quote):
libname test " "\\server\directory\testdata";
The Start-Up Code runs and you do not see any errors unless you view the log. If you try to create a data source using the Data Source Wizard, the Data Source Wizard fails to respond when you select a data set. You have to close SAS Enterprise Miner by using Windows Task Manager.
