Problem Note 31281: An installation task in the SAS® Deployment Wizard requires the installer to be an administrator on that computer
When you install from an existing SAS Software Depot or from DVD, and in the SAS Deployment
Wizard you select End User Tasks: Install SAS Software, you might receive the following error message:
Warning: This user account (domain\userid) does not have
sufficient rights to install SAS Software.
OK
This message appears when you are not the administrator of the machine.
The SAS Note 5055 provides more details on being the administrator of the machine versus being part of the administrator group.
This message might also appear if you are running with VPN software.
Solution:
Check the Computer Management ► Administrator Group to ensure that your
user ID is part of this group:
- Click Start ► Run and type
compmgmt.msc
- Click Local Users and Groups.
- Click Group and on the right side, click Administrators.
- Make sure your user ID is part of this group.
- If it is not, add it and reboot your operating system.
- If it is, take a screen shot and send it to Technical
Support.
If everything looks correct, send the SDW.log file, located in the following directories:
For most Windows systems:
C:\Documents and Settings\<userid>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAS\SAS Deployment Wizard
For Vista:
C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\SAS\SAS Deployment Wizard
For VPN software, disconnect from the software and continue with the installation.
