If you use SAS on z/OS to send e-mail and specify e-mail authentication by coding the SAS^® System option EMAILAUTHPROTOCOL=LOGIN, which specifies that you want to use the LOGIN authentication protocol, you might see the following errors:

ERROR: Email: 454 5.7.3 Client does not have permission to submit mail to this
server.

or

ERROR: Email: 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful.
