Problem Note 31932: Export to create a Microsoft Access file is much slower than for a text file
In SAS® Enterprise Guide, you can right-click on a SAS data node and choose to Export and save it as one of several different file types. However, exporting to Microsoft Access (.mdb files) can be much slower than exporting to another file type. In some cases, saving the data as a Microsoft Access file can be 10 times slower than saving the data as a text or CSV file.
As a circumvention, save the file as a .CSV file by using SAS Enterprise Guide, then open the .CSV file by using Microsoft Access, and then save the table to a MS Access database.
