Problem Note 31837: "ERROR: Cannot open entry AF.AFGO for write access - catalog SASUSER.PROFILE is" occurs when running the %STPBEGIN and %STPEND macros
The following error can occur when running a stored process that
includes the %STPBEGIN and %STPEND macros:
ERROR: Cannot open entry AF.AFGO for write access - catalog SASUSER.PROFILE
is
This error will occur when write access to the SASUSER library is
denied at the operating system level. Note that the error message is truncated and incomplete. In additon, in UNIX operating environments, the
following warning message might accompany the above error:
WARNING: UUID is not guaranteed to be unique
The error message does not effect the functionality and can be ignored. In a future release, the message will issued as a NOTE instead of an ERROR message.
There are two approachs that can be used to avoid this
error message.
- Remove the profile.sas7bcat and profile2.sas7bcat SAS catalogs
from your SASUSER library.
- Grant write access to the SASUSER library.
If the stored process uses the Workspace
Server, then the client user account needs operating system permission
to write to SASUSER. If the stored process uses the SAS® Stored
Process Server, then the "SAS General Server" group login account
("sassrv" by default) needs operating system permission to write to
SASUSER. By default, the SASUSER library path is defined in the
sasv9.cfg file.
