Usage Note 31616: When you sign on to a UNIX Spawner Program via SAS/CONNECT®, the error “Cannot start remote process” might occur
When you sign on to a UNIX Spawner Program (sastcpd), you might receive the following error:
NOTE: Remote signon to xxxxx.xxxxx commencing (SAS Release 9.01.01M3P061705).
ERROR: A communication subsystem partner link setup request failure has occurred.
ERROR: Cannot start remote process.
ERROR: Remote signon to xxxxx.xxxxx cancelled.
If the –VERBOSE system option is set on the spawner, the following error appears in the trace log:
Error spawning child process, message is Communication error with launch server
To correct this problem, follow the steps that are referenced in SAS Note 17313 "SAS® 9.1.3 Service Pack 4 includes changes to ‘Configuring User Authentication‘ section of the Installation Instructions."
