Problem Note 31439: Data Source Wizard hangs when you select a data set
If you are using the Data Source Wizard to create a Data Source in SAS® Enterprise Miner™, the Data Source Wizard might hang when you select a data set, and you will need to use Windows Task Manager to stop SAS Enterprise Miner.
The problem occurs if you have a syntax error in the project Start-Up Code. The only way to tell if you have a syntax error is to view the log.
To work around the problem, you will need to correct the syntax error before using the Data Source Wizard. You can look for syntax errors after you re-start SAS Enterprise Miner: select
View => Log. After you correct the errors, re-start SAS Enterprise Miner, and you can use the Data Source Wizard.
For example, suppose your Start-Up Code contains the following incorrect syntax (the LIBNAME statement contains an extra double-quote):
libname test " "\\server\directory\testdata";

The Start-Up Code will run and you will not see any errors unless you view the log. If you try to create a data source using the Data Source Wizard, it will hang (lock) when you select a data set. You will have to close SAS Enterprise Miner by using the Windows Task Manager.
