Usage Note 31336: Changes to SAS® Information Maps can prevent SAS® Web Report Studio reports from opening
Making any of the following changes to an information map can prevent SAS Web Report Studio reports from opening:
- One or more tables are removed from the information map, and the report uses data items from those tables.
- Individual data items are removed from the information map, and the report uses those data items.
- The data type for a column in the physical table has been changed, and the corresponding data item is being used in a report. For example, a column is changed from CHAR to NUM in the physical table.
- A filter or prompt used in the report is removed from the information map.
Messages that you might see include the following. The exact message depends on how you attempted to access the report, and your assigned capabilities:
Unresolvable resources were encountered and are in need of updating.
You have not been granted the capability for updating resources.
Contact your administrator.

Report Resources Must Be Updated
Report name: [report name]
Unresolved resources were found in the report.
These references must be removed in order to continue.
Do you want to continue by removing the unresolved resources?
For information about how SAS Web Report Studio handles unresolved resources, see When a Data Item, Filter, or Prompt Is Missing from a Report in the SAS Web Report Studio: User's Guide. In some cases, the unresolved resources can be removed from the report, allowing the report to open.
Tip: You can use the SAS® BI Lineage plug-in to SAS® Management Console to find out which reports depend on the information map. For information about the BI Lineage plug-in, see the Help for SAS Management Console.
