In the Windows Event Viewer, an event similar to the following might be logged in the Application log:
Faulting application sas.exe, version 9.20000.18320.1634,
time stamp 0x47900689, faulting module tknlssb.dll,
version 9.20000.18320.3822, time stamp 0x47900f20,
exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00001b1f,
process id 0x1200, application start time 0x01ca26746d1e74ea.
This issue commonly occurs in Windows Vista operating environments because of corrupted printer drivers. To fix this issue, follow these steps to delete and reinstall your printer drivers:
- Search for profile2.sas7bcat and add a .old extension to the file (that is, profile2.sas7bcat.old).
- In the Windows Control Panel, delete the printers that are listed in the Devices and Printers window.
- Download and install a new printer driver from each printer manufacturer’s Web site.
- Open SAS to verify that the problem is resolved.
Note: If you need to determine which printer driver is corrupted, follow these steps:
- Rename the profile2.sas7bcat file as in step 1 above for deleting and reinstalling your printer drivers.
- Delete all printers.
- Re-add a printer.
- Open SAS.
- If SAS fails to open, the most recently added printer driver is at fault. Download and install a new printer driver from the printer manufacturer’s Web site.
- If SAS opens, repeat steps 3 and 4 until you discover the printer driver that is corrupted.
Alternatively, you can add the NOPRNGETLIST system option so that SAS does not recognize the printers that are attached under Windows.
