Problem Note 30942: The WHERE clause strips trailing blanks from string literals that are concatenated with DBMS columns of type VARCHAR

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

The WHERE clause, passed to relational databases via Implicit Pass-Through processing, strips trailing spaces from string literals when they are concatenated with database management system (DBMS) columns that have been defined as type VARCHAR. WHERE clauses similar to the following exhibit this behavior:

where " - " || name = " - Jim"

This behavior can cause the database to return incorrect results.
