Problem Note 30937: Length of DB2 error message increased
Currently, when you are running a query against DB2 on z/OS, any error message that is returned to SAS from DB2 will be truncated at 141 characters. You now have the ability to increase the length of the returned error message to 240 characters. You can increase the length of the message by setting the macro variable SYS_DB2_MSG_FORMAT to LONG, which will result in a longer, but unformatted error message. Setting the macro to SHORT, or not defining the macro variable at all, will result in a message that truncates at 141 characters.
