Usage Note 30606: SAS® generates the error "The name @49 is not a valid SAS name."
SAS® IT Resource Management sites that use a version of SAS that has been compiled for an encoding other than U.S. EBCDIC (W0) might encounter the following warning and error messages:
WARNING: The current session encoding, OPEN_ED-nnnn, is not compatible with the PRX functions and call routines. Using a session encoding compatible with OPEN_ED-1047 is recommended.
ERROR: The name @49 is not a valid SAS name.
To circumvent the error, run SAS with the NLSCOMPATMODE SAS option.
