Problem Note 30465: Adding new records to a metadata repository after performing a metadata restore adds multiple metadata objects with the same internal ID value
If you create multiple metadata objects in a repository (using the METADATA_NEWOBJ function, for example), more than one object with the same metadata ID value might be created. This problem can occur in the following situations:
- You perform a restore from backup using the %OMABAKUP macro and do not stop and restart the metadata server either immediately prior to running the restore process, or immediately after running the restore process.
- You perform a full promotion to move a repository from one metadata environment to another and you do not stop and restart the metadata server after completing the promotion.
These duplicate ID values can cause a variety of errors when client applications attempt to access the metadata.
