Problem Note 30972: The SAS® Campaign Studio refine functionality might return incorrect counts when used on an and node
When using the refine output functionality within a SAS® Marketing Automation export, it is possible for incorrect counts to be generated when refining on an and node.
For example, consider the following scenario. If you have two select nodes feeding an and node, which then maps to a different subject level, and you then feed that into a cell, which in turn feeds an export, if within that export you refine output against the
and node (before changing the subject level), then the output produced might be incorrect if you use multiple ranges. This is because the underlying SQL generated reads:
"where expression1 and expressionRange1 or expressionRange2"
Instead of:
"where expression1 and (expressionRange1 or expressionRange2)"
This is only an issue where two ranges are selected. If you select only one range within the refine functionality, the results are correct.
