Problem Note 30810: DBCS characters lost after copying SAS Report output from SAS® Enterprise Guide® into Microsoft Excel

When copying SAS Report output from SAS Enterprise Guide and pasting it into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, DBCS characters might be lost. This can happen if you select the SAS Report output, select CTRL-C or right-click and choose Copy to copy the output, and then paste the output into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. When doing so, the DBCS characters will display as garbage characters in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
Possible workarounds include the following:
- creating HTML output in SAS Enterprise Guide and copying and pasting the HTML output to Excel.
- while viewing the SAS Report output, select File -> Export -> Export SAS Report - task name and save the output as an HTML output. Then open the HTML file in Microsoft Excel.
