SAS Web Report Studio enables you to insert prompt values into Text objects. In addition, you can see filtered values in the Applied filter text that appears above individual objects.
By default, SAS Web Report Studio displays unformatted values in these areas. This SAS Note explains how to see formatted values in some situations.
Note: For prompts, you have the option to display unformatted values. If the data item is numeric, the unformatted value includes decimals. This workaround can be used to remove decimals from the values.
You have two workarounds for displaying formatted values.
In the Expression Editor dialog box in SAS® Information Map Studio, change the Type to Character, and edit the expression to use the PUT function, as shown below.
STRIP(PUT(<<table.dataitem>>,format.))
In the following example, the QUARTER format changes the values 1, 2, 3, and 4 to strings such as First Quarter instead of 1.
STRIP(PUT(<<PRDSAL3.QUARTER>>,QUARTER.))
Also, on the Classifications, Aggregations, Formats tab, set the Format type to Default format.
Note: When you create a prompt in SAS Information Map Studio, you have the option to append formatted values with unformatted values. Unformatted numeric values appear with a decimal. The previously described workaround can be used to remove the decimal place from the values.
As an alternative to using the PUT function described previously, you can select the preferred format in the information map on the Classifications, Aggregations, Formats tab, and then create the prompt in SAS Web Report Studio. If you are using version 4.2 or later, when you create the prompt, select the Filter on formatted values option.

STRIP(PUT(<<PRDSAL3.DATE>>,DATE11.))
Also, on the Classifications, Aggregations, Formats tab, set the Format type to Default format.
Because the data type must remain Date in order to use the calendar control for the prompt, you cannot use the previously described workarounds. Instead, in the report, select the date data item as a group break. The date selected as the prompt value will appear as formatted in the group break label. Remove the Text object and hide the Applied filters text because the date will appear unformatted in those places.
