Usage Note 30724: SAS® Enterprise Miner(TM) 5.3 merge smartobjects.xml installation instructions
To complete a SAS Enterprise Miner 5.3 install, the smartobjects.xml file needs to be merged.To complete this merge, follow the steps below:
WINDOWS:
1. Go to Start > Programs > SAS > SAS Enterprise Miner > Enteprise Miner 5.3.
2. Log on to SAS Enterprise Miner 5.3 using the sasdemo userid and password. Make sure, for this time only, to check the box beside 'Personal Workstation'. If this is a single user installation, use the id and password you used during the configuration.
3. Once the 'Welcome to Enterprise Miner' screen is presented you can close the
window and continue with the steps to merge the SAS Enterprise Miner smart objects.
UNIX:
1. Change directories to installdir/SASAPCore/apps/EnterpriseMiner/bin
2. Execute the EM script:
./em &
See the note below. You may need to export your JAVA_HOME before executing the EM script.
3. Log on to SAS Enterprise Miner 5.3 using the sasdemo userid and password. Make sure, for this time only, to check the box beside 'Personal Workstation'.
4. Once the 'Welcome to Enterprise Miner' screen is presented you can close the
window and continue with the steps to merge the Enterprise Miner smart objects.
Note: On some UNIX environments it might be necessary to set JAVA_HOME to point to the SAS Private JRE so that SAS Enterprise Miner can be invoked properly.
