Usage Note 30657: Missing values can occur in SAS if you use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to PC Files 9.1.3 to pull data from an Excel workbook that resides under UNIX
When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files 9.1.3 in the UNIX environment to pull data from an Excel workbook that resides locally under UNIX, string formulas in the spreadsheet will cause missing values to be read into SAS.
This problem does not occur if the Excel workbook resides on a PC and you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files 9.1.3 under UNIX with the PC Files Server. The problem also does not occur when you use the IMPORT procedure with SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files 9.1.3.
