Usage Note 3497: License for SAS/SECURE not needed for use of SAS Proprietary Encryption
Algorithm
When using the SAS Proprietary encyrption algorithm, the SAS/SECURE
product does not need to be licensed. SAS Proprietary is part of BASE
SAS. This algorithm provides basic encryption services.
If more robust encryption services are required, the SAS/SECURE product
will need to be licensed. This product allows users to use either
Microsoft's CryptoAPI on Windows Platforms or the RSA BSAFE Toolkit for
all other platforms.
