Usage Note 24295: What tools do you provide to synchronize passwords in the SAS Metadata Server with the operating system?
There currently are no administrative tools that synchronize SAS Metadata Server passwords with operating system passwords. The primary reason for this is that there are no standards for obtaining changed passwords from other systems.
Open APIs to the SAS Metadata Server do allow for custom applications to be written to synchronize passwords at a given site.
SAS 9.1.2 introduced the SAS Personal Login Manager. This desktop application enables end users to manage their own logins. End users can use the SAS Personal Login Manager to reset their passwords, to add new logins, and to update or remove existing logins. The login manager is available via SAS ancillary media.
