Tunneled applets might not be running with an HTTPS server for two reasons:

• HTTPS support is only provided if you are using Version 1.3 of the Java Plug-in in your client environment.

• Sometimes the connection to the HTTPS server appears to work but login to the SAS server fails. This problem can occur when the first request to the tunnel server programs in a browser session is also the initial request to the HTTPS server (the one that does the authentication and key exchange). The workaround is to load a different page on the HTTPS server before sending a request to the tunnel server programs.
