All portal users must have the user right "Log on as a batch job." If a user is not assigned this right, the following types of error messages will appear:

• ERROR: Invalid credentials.
• ERROR: Access denied.
• ERROR: Error authenticating user XXX in function LogonUser.
• Error 1385 (Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer.) NOTE: User XXX probably does not have the right to log on as a batch job.

To ensure that all new portal users are assigned this user right, you can:

1. Create a new group on your operating system called "SAS Server Users."
2. Assign the user right "Log on as a batch job" to this group.
3. As you add new portal users, be sure to add them to this group.
