Usage Note 22738: What does ERROR: Member or library unavailable for use in file libref.&&&&&&.data mean?
This message is commonly seen on the the personal computer or UNIX platforms when the transport file has not had
the record attribute Carriage Return Carriage Control removed before moving it to the new machine. You cannot fix
this situation from the PC. The record attribute in the transport file needs to be changed to NONE on OpenVMS.
The new transport file with the record attribute set to NONE can then be used.
If you are getting this message when you are trying to process a transport file on a PATHWORKS shared disk, you may wish to check with your system manager to set up a special file service to handle this situation. For more
information see the article entitled, "Using PATHWORKS Software for PC DOS and VMS Systems with SAS
Software," Observations: The Technical Journal for SAS Software Users, 4Q91 (Vol. 1, No. 1) and/or call SAS
Institute's Technical Support, and ask for an OpenVMS consultant.
