Usage Note 22674: Which UNIX platforms are compatible with the PowerPC(PPC) Macintosh Systems and do not require the PROC CPORT/PROC CIMPORT transport method when transporting SAS catalogs across platforms?
The HP, SUN (SUN4 and SOLARIS2), and MIPS ABI platforms are compatible with the
PowerPC(PPC) Macintosh Systems and do not require the PROC CPORT/PROC CIMPORT transport method.
The AIX platform is not compatible with PowerPC(PPC) Macintosh Systems.
For all other UNIX platforms, the catalogs require transport
files using the PROC CPORT/PROC CIMPORT transport method.
Note: The CPORT/CIMPORT procedure supports catalog transport from
earlier to later releases only. Catalog transport is not backward compatible.
However, you can move SAS data sets from later to earlier releases using the
XPORT engine.
